Bhutan Tours 6 Days

Day 01 : Arrive Paro, transfer to Thimphu by Car/Jeep: You will be met by our representatives who will greet you in traditional fashion and then escort you to your private vehicle to begin the journey to Thimphu. The drive is 56km and takes approximately 1 ½ hours through beautiful countryside and past spectacular monasteries. En route you may visit Tamchoe Lhakhang, a privately owned temple, where you can admire and cross one of the loveliest suspension bridges in Bhutan. The afternoon is free for cultural touring in Thimphu including visits to the National Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, and National Institute of Zorig Chusum or "Painting School."

Day 02 : Thimphu (sightseeing): Enjoy a full day sightseeing in Thimphu with a visit to the Weekend Market and/or an optional hike to a remote monastery.

Day 03 : Thimphu to Punakha: Leave Thimphu after an early breakfast for Punakha. En route visit Dochu La Pass and the 108 Dochu La Chortens with the option of a 4-hour high elevation return hike to the remote Lungchuzekha Goemba and, if you like, a stop at the Botanical Gardens. The remainder of the day is free for activities as you choose.

Day 04 : Punakha to Paro: The morning is free to visit the Punakha Dzong which is often considered one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan. Originally built by the first Shabdrung in 1637, it lies between 2 rivers and is now the winter residence of the Monk Body and its Chief Abbot. After seeing inside the Dzong, take your time exploring the neighboring grounds and walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Later enjoy a 20-minute gentle walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang. Also known as the Divine Madman's, people now visit to receive blessings for fertility from his wooden phallus. In the afternoon, return to Paro for activities as you choose.

Day 05 : Paro (sightseeing): After breakfast at your hotel, hike to Taktsang Monastery or "Tiger's Nest" (Approximately 4 hours roundtrip). The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of nearly 3,000 feet and overlooks the Paro valley. It is one of the most venerated pilgrim sites in the Himalayan world and houses 13 holy places. If you aren't up for hiking, ponies are available to take you as far as the teahouse which offers amazing views of the temple.
Spend the afternoon seeing other highlights of Paro as time permits or explore the town on foot.

Day 06 : Departure for your onward journey: Wake up early for breakfast and then transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Your guide and driver will bid you farewell after assuring all flight formalities are Complete.
