The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Muktinath trek is a medium Elevation trek, situated north of Pokhara. This is the most popular trekking region, attracting over 70% of all trekkers in Nepal. The route ascends to 4130m Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and then descends towards Ghorepani. One of the highlights is Poon Hill, where we will observe beautiful panoramic views of the Annapurna Himal. From Poon Hill, the trek continues to Muktinath crossing a variety of terrain with fantastic views. It will take almost three weeks to complete including your arrival and departure. During the trek you will be able to enjoy: dramatic mountain scenery; alpine deserts; rice terraces, the Tibetan plateau; turbulent rivers with deep gorges; crystal clear lakes; hot springs; waterfalls and a wide variety of vegetation, including the world's biggest rhododendron forest. In addition, you will be able to observe different cultures and ways of life of people who live in this region, as well as different birds and animals. Another highlight will be our visit to the well-known Muktinath temple used by Hindus and Buddhists.
You don’t need any previous mountaineering training or technical experience for this trek as the terrain is not very difficult. However, some vigorous hiking experience and good physical condition is very useful.

Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu airport and you will be transferred to the hotel by one of our representatives.

Day 02 : Kathmandu: In the morning we will visit Patan, a true open air museum with its pagodas, temples, and monasteries. In the afternoon we will visit Kathmandu's Durbar Square, including the old royal palace and the house of the Kumari (a living goddess who is the reincarnation of Kali).

Day 03 : Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) by tourist coach bus: In the afternoon, we will visit Devis Falls (the waterfall goes into a very deep and narrow canal), Guptesowri Cave (a very attractive natural cave) and Fewa lake (second largest lake in Nepal, 1.5 km long) which are the main tourist attractions in Pokhara.

Day 04 : Trek Pokhara to Tolka (1850m): On the first day of our trek, we will commence our trek from Phedi (about half an hour drive from Pokhara). We will slowly ascend to the Dhampus and Deurali villages. Along the way, we will be rewarded with great mountain views, which continue to improve as we ascend along the ridge. Our trek continues as we descend to Tolka (1850m).

Day 05 : Trek Tolka to Chhomrong (2170m): Today, the trek descends to Landrung village and then continues to Jhinu-Danda (1780m) following the Modi Khola River. After crossing a suspension bridge, we ascend to Chhomrong village. From Chhomrong we will see very close mountain views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhare (commonly referred to as Fishtail).

Day 06 : Trek Chhomrong to Dovan (2510m): On the third day of our trek, we will descend to Chhomrong Khola and than continue by ascending to Khuldighar where there is Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) check post our trek continues to Dovan.

Day 07 : Trek Doban to Deurali (3230m): Today, the trek will begin by climbing through Bamboo and crossing rhododendron and other mixed forests until we reach Deurali.

Day 08 : Trek Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC-4130m): The trek through the narrow Modi Kola valley will bring you to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). We continue to ABC, where you will ringed by silvery mountains in one of the most beautiful of landscapes. These include tremendous views of the near vertical south face of Annapurna towering above the sanctuary to the north-west. This is one of the famous places in the Annapurna area, where you can enjoy the close view of several peaks.

Day 09 : Trek Annapurna Base camp (ABC) to Bamboo (2340m): The trek from ABC descends back along the same trail passing MBC to Bamboo, taking about five hours. For many, it's much easier to descend.

Day 10 : Trek Bamboo to Chhomrong (2170m): The trek continues as we retrace our steps ascending and descending along the trail for about four hours.

Day 11 : Trek Chhomrong to Tadapani (2590m): Today's easy walk leads to Ghurjung, which is village of Gurung people. Then we will steeply ascend to Tadapani for about 3 hours. From Tadapani we will observe the panoramic views of the Annapurna Himal.

Day 12 : Trek Tadapani to Ghorepani (2860m): The trek will take us through mossy dense rhododendron forests for about five hours until we reach Ghorepani.

Day 13 : Trek Ghorepani to Tatopani (1190m): In the early morning we will hike to Poon hill (3210m) for the wonderful mountain scenery at sunrise, including Dhaulagiri( 8167m), Fishtail(6998m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II( 7939m), Annapurna III(7555m), Annapurna IV(7525m), Himchuli(6441m), Annapurna South(7219m), Tukuche Peak(6920m), and Lamjung Himal(6986m). From Poon Hill we will retrace our steps to Ghorepani. After having breakfast we will continue our trek, descending to Tatopani. This will take a whole day with crossing Chitre, Shikha and Ghara villages and one suspension bridge in Kali Gandaki River. Tatopani means "Hot Water" in Nepali and there is a natural hot spring down by the river side, which is excellent for the relaxing soak.

Day 14 : Trek Tatopani to Ghasa (1970m): Today, the trail will ascend through Dana Village to the hamlet of Rupse Chhahara (1550m) where we will take our lunch. The highlight of the day will be the beautiful waterfall views near Rupse Chhahara. You can also see several flat-roofed Tibetan styles houses in Ghasa where we will stay the night.

Day 15 : Trek Ghasa to Marpha (2670m): The trek to Marpha follows the Kali Gandaki gorge and passes through Kalopani and Tukuche villages. Marpha is a small charming village of Thakali people,where all the houses are made by mud and stones with narrow street paved with flat stones. Marpha is very popular for its apples, apple Raksi (spirit) and apple cider. We will visit the Marpha Monastery as well.

Day 16 : Trek Marpha to Kagbeni (2800m): We will leisurely commence our trek to Jomsom (2700m) which takes approximately 2 hours. Jomsom is a big beautiful village with lot of facilities, including a small domestic airport (which is only connected to Pokhara). Jomsom is also the administrative headquarter of the district. From Jomson, our trek continues for about 3 hours to Kagbeni (2800m). On the way you will see a lot of black fossils or "Saligrams" which local people will offer to sell to you. Kagbeni (2800m), located near the Kali Gandaki river, is a very interesting and medieval village with stone houses, narrow alleys, green fields and view of the high mountains. It is not very far from legendary areas of Mustang and Lo Monthang.
NOTE: Mustang is controlled trekking region so a separate permit is required to travel in Mustang. Therefore we recommended that you not to walk north of this village because this is border of the Mustang.

Day 17 :
Trek Kagbeni to Muktinath (3760m): The trek will take about 4 hours to reach Muktinath as we ascend for couple of hundred meters. On this day, we will enjoy beautiful deserted landscapes, old Tibetan style villages, and the Throng-La valley. After reaching Muktinath, we can hike to Ranipauwa (3700m) where there is very important site for Hindus and Buddhists. When we reach the Vishnu temple we may see pilgrims bathing in the holy water flowing from the 108 spouts carved in the shape of cow's heads. The temple is built in Tibetan style and contains huge brass idols of Shiva, Vishnu, Kali and Brahma.

Day 18 :
Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (2750m): Heading way from Muktinath we will retrace our steps to Jomsom leaving the beautiful views of Nilgiri and the famous Hindu and Buddhist temple. This is the last day of the trek and we will celebrate our last day at dinner in Jomsom.

Day 19 :
Flight Jomsom –Pokhara –Kathmandu (1334m): With our trek successfully completed, today our flights take us from Jomsom to Pokahara (20 minutes) and from Pokhara to Kathmandu (30 minutes). Afternoon free time in Kathmandu.

Day 20 :
Kathmandu: Today we will visit Pashupatinath (ancient and holiest temple of Hindu religion), Boudhanath (the largest Stupa of Nepal built in 14th century), Soyambhunath (one of the world's most glorious stupa), famous for eyes of Buddha which seem to be observing the world from four directions.

Day 21 : Transfer to the airport and departure.

We have many options for shorter visits based on your interests and budget. For the Pokhara-Kathmandu segment, we can depart by flight or by bus/van.
