The Everest region of Nepal is one of the most famous and popular trekking destinations in the world. Treks to Gokyo offer expanded views of some of the highest peaks in the world as well as beautiful landscapes at lower elevations, Buddhist monasteries and interesting Sherpa villages. Visiting local villages gives trekkers the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of Himalayan peoples, their religion, customs and traditions. The Gokyo trek is situated in Sagarmatha National park (1148 sq. km) which was established in 1976 and was added to the list of world heritage sites in 1979. There are a vast number of flora and fauna in the area. Himalayan wildlife commonly seen includes mountain goats, musk deer and rare species of red panda and snow leopard. Native flora includes pine trees, birch trees and colorful rhododendron flowers.

Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu airport and you will be transferred to the hotel by one of our representatives.
Overnight: Hotel
Elevation: 1334m.
Day 02 : Patan and Kathmandu Durbar Square : Drive from Katmandu to the neighbouring city of Patan to visit a true open air museum which offers pagodas, temples and monasteries
In the afternoon we will visit Durbar Square the old royal palace, the house of the Kumari (living goddess) who is the reincarnation of Goddess Taleju (Kali).

Day 03 : Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding(2650m): You will enjoy a scenic 40 minute flight to Lukla (2865m) where you will commence the trek to Phakding which takes approximately 3 hours. We will trek via crossing Cheplung (2700m), Thado Koshi and Ghat (2590m) villages. Phakding is small beautiful village, where comfortable lodges are available.

Day 04 : Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m): The busy trail follows Dudh Koshi river and reaches Zamphuti where you can observe the beautiful view of Thamserku Peak and then continue to Chomoa where there is an interesting agriculture project to view. We continue on the trail again and climb to Monjo (2850m). Monjo is also the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park and we will complete our trekking permit and National park entry formalities at this point. The trek again continues to Jorsale where we will then commence our ascent to Namche Bazaar after crossing the large suspension bridge along the way. Along the way you will able to view the first proper glimpse of Mt. Everest and other surrounding peaks. Namche bazaar is known as the gateway to Everest and has very good lodges, several monasteries, shops, bakeries, an army camp, Sagarmatha National Park quarter, and a museum etc.

Day 05 : Acclimatization day in Namche(3440m): On this day you will have a full day of leisure. If you like, a short walk takes you to the nearby Everest View Hotel where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Everest. You may also be interested to visit the Sherpa Museum which is a great place to learn Sherpa culture and the history of mountaineering in the area.

Day 06 : Namche to Phortse Thanga (3810m):The trek starts on the flat trail to Shanasa for about one and half hours then ascends to Mongla hill for two hours. We continue steeply descending to Phortse Thanga about one and half hours. The views of Khumbila, Tawche, Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam and Thamserku peaks are tremendous throughout the day.

Day 07 : Phortse Thanga to Machhermo (4470m): The trail begins by ascending steeply through rhododendron forests, passing many Kharkas on its way to Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m) and then reaches Dole. From the Dole we will cross Small River and continue trail ascending to Lhaparma (4330m), Luza (4340m) and finally we will reach Machermo. The trek will take about 6 hours to reach Machermo(4470m) where the mountain views are superb.

Day 08 : Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4790m): Today the trail will ascend to Gokyo. We climb a steep rocky incline into the valley by the side of the glacier, passing the first of the holy lakes and we then soon arrive at the second lake, crossing the path which heads across the glacier to Cho La - our route to Lobuche and Everest which we will undertake later in the trek. The third lake is known as Dudh Pokhari and on its eastern shore is the settlement of Gokyo. Walking along the edge of the lake the scenery is breathtaking: the summits of Cho- Oyu and Gyachung Kang reflect beautifully in its emerald green waters.

Day 09 : Trek Gokyo to Nala (4385m): In the early morning we will hike approximately two hours to Gokyo –Ri (5463m) for the wonderful mountain scenery including Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Twache and other peaks. This is the highest point of this trek and will create unforgettable lifetime memories for you to enjoy. We will retrace our steps to Gokyo and after having breakfast continue our trek for about five hours descending to Nala.

Day 10 : Trek Nala to Tengboche (3860m): The trail begins to gently descend to Phortse a small beautiful Sherpa settlement where we will have our lunch. After lunch the trail again steeply descends to Imja Khola River and than steeply ascends to Tengboche. Tengboche is a very famous tourist destination in Nepal because of its well known Buddhist monastery and superb mountain views.

Day 11 : Trek Tengboche to Jorsale (2810m): We commence our trek from Tengboche descending steeply through a beautiful forest of rhododendron, blue pine and silver fir to Phunkithanga a small settlement with couple of tea houses. The trail ascends to Trashinga crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River continuing through juniper and pine forest, on an easy trail to Namche Bazaar. After having lunch in Namche the trail steeply descends before crossing the suspension bridge and continuing to Jorsalle following Dudh Koshi River.

Day 12 : Trek Jorsale to Lukla (2865m): On this final day's trek we reach Lukla. This 4 to 5 hours takes us through the village of Phakding, Ghat, Thado Koshi and Cheplung. On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek.

Day 13 : Fly Lukla to Kathmandu (1334m): This morning you will transfer to Lukla airstrip for your flight back to Kathmandu. The 40 minutes flight to kathmandu usually leaves early from Lukla but this depends on the weather.

Day 14 : Kathmandu: Today we will visit Pashupatinath (ancient and holiest temple of Hindu religion), Boudhanath (the largest Stupa of Nepal built in 14th century), Soyambhunath (one of the world's most glorious stupa), famous for eyes of Buddha which seem to be observing the world from four directions.

Day 15 : Transfer to the airport and departure.
